Tamil Nadu which is facing serious power crisis,is now entirely focusing on renewable energy. A mass movement have been stirred pushing the rooftop scheme.Likewise the solar policy of the state created a huge interest among investors, aiming towards making the state a world leader in solar power generation.Solar lighting has been installed in three lakh houses under the chief ministers solar powered green house scheme (CMSPGHS).
A mechanism is supposedly being developed for certification of solar installation which still union government has to clear.The state wants to clearly push the solar power schemes as it is already offering various incentives (including 20,000 for solar investors).These subsidies and incentives creates a buzz in the market and allure as many as investors.The government is trying every possible measure to develop the solar market in the state,and the first major step they have taken towards is rooftop schemes.The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu announced that a subsidy of Rs. 20,000/kW will be provided to 10,000 applicants in the first phase of this scheme.
