Capacity Utilization Factor of Solar PV plants in India -(11-31%)

The capacity utilization factors (CUF) of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants in India range from 11 – 31%.according to data released by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) May 2013.

The data for plants were commissioned under the Phase 1, Batch 1 and Phase 1, Batch 2 of the National Solar Mission besides the Rooftop Photovoltaic and Small Solar Power Generation Programme (RPSSGP). rssgpMany of the plants under the RPSSGP programme showed low performance with all the plants reporting CUFs below 18 per cent. The top performance for an RPSSGP plant was reported at 26.21 per cent developed by Navbharat Buildcon Pvt. Ltd.

Also, plants under Phase 1, Batch 1 showed CUFs from 18 – 31 per cent, with the majority reporting CUFs of 24 per cent or higher – the best performing plant has a CUF of 31.24 per cent and was developed by Saidham Overseas Pvt. Ltd.
